Hello! Thank you to everyone who loves and supports the Love and Hope Music School.
Let’s bring you the latest news in Haiti.
I visited Haiti with Clarinetist Kiwoo Lee from New Jersey from October 16th to 20th. Haiti has a gas shortage for the past three months, so there weren’t any cars on the street, and people are having a hard time living normal life due to protests.
New Jersey Praise Presbyterian Church donated many instruments, and Jane, the member of the church, donated 150 backpacks. During the visit, we gave clarinets to children at Pino orphanage who have been practicing recorder for the past three months. Girls at Delma orphanage just started to learn playing recorder. They have been wanting to learn wind instruments since only boys were playing it, so they were very happy to finally get their recorder.
We also hired new teachers for the school. We hired a Flute instructor, “Tanya” and an advanced Violin instructor, “Christian”.
Orphanage kids have been wanting to get a new backpack, and they were excited to get one. Once again, I give thanks to Jane who donated for the kids.
We were glad to see Pino orphanage kids who got new instruments and started their first lesson.
Our hearts are full and warmed when we give our love to the kids and see their smiles.
Haiti is going through a hard time, but I give thanks to your love and continuing support.
Best regards,
Junghwan Lee
