March 2021 Canaan

From March 8th to 15th, 2021, we went to Haiti after a year.

We were so glad to visit since we weren’t able to go because of the pandemic. Haiti doesn’t have a lot of COVID cases, but they are suffering from anti-government protests, war between gangs, and kidnaps. During this visit, we met with music teachers and students, and we shared gifts and food together. We also had a meeting for a music school that will open in orphanages.

On the day we met students, we had a pizza party with our missionary. We were so happy to meet students, and they grew a lot this past year. Students were so excited to see us and told us that they missed music school a lot. We were glad as we saw students sharing food and gifts together.

We also met with music school teachers. They thanked us for coming during the toughest time as they thought we are no longer operating music school. We prayed with them for music school and encouraged them to continue working.

We visited orphanages during the visit. We played music for them and gave little gifts like hair pins, candy, and personal hygiene products.

We weren’t able to go to the Mission Center at Cite Soleil due to war between gangs in the area, so the music school at Cite Soleil will be temporarily closed.

We didn’t have a detailed plan to help orphanage kids besides playing music for them, but we decided to start teaching wind instruments, starting this April. We provided wind instruments that were collected for the Canaan project, and we will provide music teachers for the orphanages.

We are so thankful to see kids getting excited to learn new instruments.

Please continue to pray and support music school.
