WHAT WE DO
Love and Hope Music School
The Love and Hope Music School was set up at City Soleil, Haiti with the vision of educating Haiti children through music and teaching them to serve others in the area. City Soleil is a slum area in Port Au Prince, Haiti’s capital, and has the most dangerous neighborhoods. The children and young people there are struggling with poverty and hunger, and desperately need hope.
We established a music school at Love and Hope mission center in October 2018 in order to enlighten the children and young people in the village with music, let them understand the beauty of music, and empower them to become music performers and to serve orphanage children of the village and beyond.
We are serving the school remotely in the leadership, and visit them a couple of times a year. The school has a local director and teachers of instruments including violin, flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, percussion, trombone, guitar, band director. The students learn basic music theory, then take classes on chosen instruments.
